The Los Angeles Lakers have unveiled a new Statement Edition uniform that features a bold purple primary color, accented with gold and white, merging tradition with a modern look.

This announcement comes on the heels of news regarding the Lakers' pending sale to the Dodgers' owner, generating excitement for the upcoming season.

This new design replaces the previous Statement Edition purple uniforms from 2022, while the Lakers will continue to wear their gold Icon Edition and white Association Edition uniforms, along with annual City Edition uniforms.

A significant change in the new uniform is the removal of the black accent panel, allowing the vibrant purple and gold colors to stand out more prominently.

The collar of the uniform showcases purple and white stripes, and the side panels now prominently display 'Los Angeles Lakers' in a vibrant combination of purple, gold, and white.

Unlike the previous iteration, the new design features a crisp white font for both the team name and player numbers, accented with gold trim.

The shorts will display the franchise's primary logo at the top center and the 'LA' logo on both sides, along with the phrase 'Leave a Legacy' above the jock tag and the number '17' at the back of the neck to honor the team's championships.

For the first time, the Lakers' 'LA' logo will appear on both sides of the shorts in this core uniform.

The number 17 near the neck symbolizes the team's total NBA championships, while 'Leave a Legacy' honors Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.

Moreover, global Korean food brand bibigo has been named the official jersey patch sponsor for the Lakers.

In addition to the uniform updates, the Lakers are focusing on their long-term strategy, aiming to pair superstar Luka Doncic with strong teammates as LeBron James approaches the end of his career.

An annual 'City Edition' jersey will also be released before the start of the season, featuring a different design from the previous year.
