Mississippi State has extended coach Chris Jans' contract through the 2027-28 season.

Jans will receive a pay raise to $4.2 million in base salary next season.

Under Jans, the team has made back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances, the first since 2009.

The school is showing significant investment in basketball due to Jans' success.

Jans previously coached at New Mexico State and has a career record of 185-71 with five NCAA tournament appearances.
