Blizzard Restores Doomfist's Classic Abilities in Overwatch's Limited-Time Mode
February 8, 2025
Blizzard has introduced a hotfix for Doomfist in the limited-time Overwatch Classic game mode, aiming to restore his abilities to their original gameplay style from September 2017.
Doomfist's abilities now include Rocket Punch, Rising Uppercut, Seismic Slam, Meteor Strike, a Hand Cannon, and a passive ability known as The Best Defense.
The recent adjustments focus on retuning Doomfist's abilities, including Seismic Slam, Rising Uppercut, Rocket Punch, and Meteor Strike.
The air time for Rising Uppercut has been reverted to its original duration, with a loss of air control lasting three seconds.
Seismic Slam's ground checks and shockwave hitbox have also been reverted to their original values.
Significantly, Rocket Punch and Meteor Strike can no longer cancel Seismic Slam and Rising Uppercut, enhancing the flow of combat.
In Overwatch Classic, matches are played in a six-versus-six format, with Doomfist serving as a damage hero, contrasting his role as a tank in Overwatch 2.
Developers have indicated plans to implement additional bug fixes in the coming week to address reported issues.
