Japan’s eSports scene is targeting a national representative for e-sports and team events at the 20th Asian Games, with the Street Fighter 6 winner at ASIA esports EXPO 2026 slated as a candidate.

From ASIA esports EXPO 2026, the top four performers across selected events will advance toward selecting Japan’s Asian Games representative.

The overall objective is to identify Japan’s official e-sports and team events competitor for the 20th Asian Games, culminating from results at ASIA esports EXPO 2026.

CAPCOM PRO TOUR 2025 WORLD WARRIOR JAPAN runs across five online events from early September 2025 through January 2026, with a Premier Tournament in Chengdu in late October to early November 2025 and CAPCOM CUP 12 scheduled for mid-M March 2026 in Tokyo.

Event details note the organizing coalition of Aichi/Nagoya e-Sports Vitalization Promotion Committee and JeSU, with the venue at Aichi International Exhibition Center, Exhibition Hall D.

Selection criteria pull from CAPCOM PRO TOUR 2025 WORLD WARRIOR JAPAN (top five by points from five online events, advancing one), CAPCOM PRO TOUR 2025 PREMIER TOURNAMENT in Chengdu (one top-ranked player), and CAPCOM CUP 12 (two top-ranked players).
