BGIS 2025 Grand Finals: Top Teams Battle for ₹96 Lakh in Kolkata Showdown
April 17, 2025
Krafton has announced a significant increase in the prize pool for the BGIS 2025 tournament, raising it from ₹2 crore to ₹3.2 crore, making it the largest BGMI tournament to date.
This year's prize allocation will benefit all 32 participating teams, with an additional ₹1.2 crore (~$140,000/£107,000) dedicated to the top competitors compared to last year's total.
The increase in the prize pool is largely attributed to the successful reception of the BGIS 2025 Crate, which was launched earlier this year and has contributed to the growth of India's esports scene.
The Grand Finals of BGIS 2025 will take place offline in Kolkata, West Bengal, from April 25 to 27, featuring 16 top teams including fan favorites like Team Soul and GodLike Esports.
These 16 qualified teams also include notable competitors such as Reckoning and Orangutan, alongside underdog teams like 4Ever, THW, and H4K.
Fans can expect an exciting event, as the Grand Finals will consist of 18 matches spread over three days, with live coverage available at the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan and via a live stream on YouTube.
The champions of the Grand Finals will take home ₹96 lakh, while the runner-up will receive ₹72 lakh, with additional prizes for lower placements.
The detailed prize distribution includes ₹26 lakh for third place, ₹19.8 lakh for fourth, and amounts decreasing down to ₹6.1 lakh for the 15th and 16th places.
Special awards will also be presented, including ₹1 lakh for the fan favorite team and ₹3 lakh for the MVP, along with prizes for categories like best IGL and best clutch.
Karan Pathak, Associate Director of Esports at Krafton India, highlighted the tournament as a celebration of the rapid growth of Indian esports and aims to inspire more players to excel in the competitive landscape.
The announcement regarding the prize pool increase was made during a Realme event in Delhi, where the crates were introduced to enhance the overall prize fund.
The BGIS Special Edition 2025 crate, which ran from March 19 to April 11, 2025, featured exclusive in-game items, with proceeds directly supporting the prize pool for this year's tournament.
