August 20, 2024
This acquisition aligns with Dropbox's mission to enhance productivity and improve work-life balance through advanced scheduling tools.
Dropbox has announced its acquisition of Reclaim.ai, a Portland-based startup specializing in AI-driven task prioritization and scheduling.
Founded in 2019 by Henry Shapiro and Patrick Lightbody, Reclaim.ai will continue its product development and support for existing users under the Dropbox umbrella.
Reclaim.ai has experienced significant growth, now serving over 320,000 users across more than 43,000 companies, including notable clients like PagerDuty, Zapier, and GitHub.
Customers can expect no immediate changes to pricing or support, as Reclaim maintains its current offerings, which include a free tier for individuals and paid plans starting at $8 per person per month.
The Reclaim team has expressed gratitude to its users for their feedback, which has been crucial in shaping the development of their scheduling tool.
Currently integrated with Google Calendar, Reclaim plans to expand its capabilities by adding support for Microsoft Outlook and introducing features like Smart Meetings and an AI copilot called Reclaim Assistant.
The integration of generative AI is expected to enhance user experience by automating scheduling processes and improving overall efficiency.
The co-founders emphasized their commitment to continue developing the app with new features and updates, inspired by Dropbox CEO Drew Houston's vision for an improved calendar system.
While the financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed, all 22 employees of Reclaim.ai will join Dropbox as part of the deal.
This acquisition reflects a broader trend in the productivity sector, where calendar management and scheduling tools are increasingly being integrated and acquired.
Reclaim.ai has raised a total of $9.5 million from various investors, including notable names like Calendly and Index Ventures, to support its growth and development.
