LA Startup Warp Secures $10M to Launch AI-Powered Robotic Freight Facility
June 13, 2025
Warp, a logistics startup based in Los Angeles, has successfully raised $10 million in a Series A funding round, co-led by Up.Partners and Blue Bear Capital, bringing its total funding to $22 million since its inception in 2021.
The new funding will be utilized to expand Warp's AI systems and to launch its first fully robotic cross-dock facility, which aims to automate the entire freight lifecycle, enhancing efficiency and reducing costs.
Warp's innovative approach addresses significant inefficiencies in the logistics sector, such as labor dependency and lack of visibility, with the goal of achieving full-stack automation in freight operations.
Co-Founder and Chief Revenue Officer Troy Lester emphasized that Warp is building a freight network that integrates AI, robotics, and transportation to deliver guaranteed outcomes for shippers.
Founded in 2021, Warp aims to enhance supply chain efficiency through automation within its network of warehouses.
The company serves notable clients including Walmart, Gopuff, and HelloFresh, and is now focusing on automating warehouse workflows using robotics.
In a strategic move, Warp plans to hire only 10 more full-time employees, opting to scale operations through automation and intelligent agents rather than increasing headcount.
Daniel Sokolovsky, Co-Founder and CEO of Warp, highlighted that the funding round is aimed at multiplying output through technology instead of expanding the workforce.
Sokolovsky also noted that while long-haul trucking and short-range delivery cannot be automated, there are significant opportunities to improve warehouse processes.
The company is currently testing several robot versions and plans to deploy them in its core networks across major cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, New Jersey, Dallas, and Miami within the year.
Warp's robotic cross-dock will be integrated with its network of 50 cross-docks and over 10,000 carrier vehicles, facilitating faster and more precise goods movement for both B2B and D2C shipments.
Additionally, Warp is deploying AI across various operational areas, including routing, pricing, scheduling, visibility, and customer service, leading to improved on-time performance and significant efficiency gains.
