Punto Health, a Barcelona-based startup dedicated to transforming dementia care, has won the NN Social Innovation Startup Award 2025, which includes a €100,000 grant and a year-long mentorship program from NN Group and Rubio Impact Ventures.

The CEO and Co-founder, Anna Muñoz Farré, emphasized that this grant is crucial for advancing dementia care and supporting families worldwide, noting that one in two people will be affected by dementia in their lifetime.

Farré's inspiration for founding Punto Health came from her personal experience with her grandfather's dementia diagnosis, which highlighted significant gaps in the healthcare system.

Founded in 2023 by Anna Muñoz Farré and Jack Eckersley, Punto Health aims to leverage AI to transition from crisis management to proactive family support in dementia care.

The startup offers two main products: PuntoCare, a mobile app providing personalized daily care plans and cognitive exercises, and PuntoClinic, a clinical platform for remote cognitive assessment and monitoring.

With estimates suggesting that by 2030, 78 million people will face a dementia diagnosis, the need for effective care solutions has never been more urgent.

Punto Health's mission is to empower personalized care for individuals impacted by cognitive diseases, involving patients, carers, and clinicians in the product development process.

Lonneke Roza from NN Group highlighted the award's purpose of supporting early-stage social enterprises and the importance of scalable solutions for improving well-being.

Both Roza and Ilonka Jankovich from Rubio Impact Ventures praised the significance of innovative solutions in social entrepreneurship, particularly in mental health and healthcare access.

Other notable finalists for the award included startups addressing various social issues, such as naext, iYoni App, Juvoly, and Morphoses, each contributing to different aspects of social well-being.

Runner-up honors were awarded to The Hacking Games, a Belgium-based startup that received €50,000 for its initiative to transition digital talent in gaming communities into cybersecurity careers.

The NN Social Innovation Startup Award aims to recognize innovative solutions to social challenges and was presented during The Next Web Conference.
