In connection with his death, a 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder, while a 12-year-old girl has been charged with manslaughter.

The 15-year-old boy is scheduled to appear at Leicester Crown Court later this week, following his arrest three days after the incident.

The 12-year-old girl, whose identity is protected for legal reasons, is set to appear at Leicester Youth Court on December 16, 2024.

Due to prior interactions with Kohli, Leicestershire Police have referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

Bhim Kohli, an 80-year-old man, tragically died on September 2, 2024, at Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, following severe injuries sustained during an attack in Franklin Park, Braunstone Town.

The incident occurred while Kohli was walking his dog, Rocky, just 30 seconds from his home, when he was assaulted around 6:30 PM.

Kohli succumbed to a fatal neck injury, which was confirmed by a post-mortem examination.
