December 9, 2024
In a significant pre-Christmas operation, New South Wales police arrested over 100 alleged drug dealers, with major busts occurring in Bondi and outside Parliament House.
The operation, which targeted dial-a-dealers, spanned three weekends from late November to early December 2024 and resulted in a total of 108 arrests.
NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Peter McKenna announced that the operation would continue into 2025, emphasizing the commitment to disrupting drug distribution at all levels.
This crackdown was part of Strike Force Northrop, which has been actively targeting dial-a-dealers since 2017.
In addition to the arrests, police confiscated over $90,000 in cash and five vehicles as part of asset seizure protocols.
The operation led to the seizure of approximately $20,000 worth of illegal drugs, including nearly 560 grams of cocaine and significant amounts of MDMA, cannabis, and other substances.
Among those arrested, 64 individuals were charged with supplying prohibited drugs, while 44 faced drug possession charges, and one was charged with domestic violence offenses.
