Meta Sues Ex-VP for Stealing Trade Secrets for AI Startup
March 12, 2024
Meta Platforms Inc. has sued ex-VP Dipinder Singh Khurana, accusing him of misappropriating confidential company information.
Khurana allegedly uploaded sensitive details about Meta's data centers and AI programs to personal cloud storage accounts and to his new employer.
The lawsuit suggests a link between the leaked 'Top Talent' list and the subsequent hiring of at least eight Meta employees by Khurana's new company.
The legal action against Khurana includes charges of breach of contract and fiduciary duty, among others, with Meta seeking various forms of restitution.
The complaint was filed in California on Feb. 29, with Khurana currently employed at Omniva, an AI data center firm.
