Specialist technology detector dogs are aiding in the search for missing Ballarat woman Samantha Murphy at Buninyong Bushland Reserve.

Earlier searches were called off, but have resumed with police utilizing technical detection dogs and support from the Australian Federal Police.

Samantha Murphy, 51, has been missing since February 4, triggering a significant search operation.

A 22-year-old man, Patrick Stephenson, has been arrested and charged with Samantha Murphy's murder.

The search for Murphy's remains has deeply affected the Ballarat community, causing widespread grief.

The accused, Patrick Stephenson, is currently in custody and is set to appear in court in August.
