British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has announced a major investment of at least 885 million euros in the UK's nuclear sector by 2030.

The investment is projected to create 40,000 new jobs and aims to fill the skills gap in the civil nuclear industry.

Key industry partners include BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce, EDF, and Babcock, who will work with the government to bolster the nuclear industry.

A significant portion of the funding, 230 million euros, is earmarked for the nuclear submarine construction unit in Barrow-in-Furness.

Defence Secretary Grant Shapps is set to detail the investment plan in parliament, citing the need to counter Russian aggression and Middle Eastern instability.

The initiative has been positively received by industry leaders for its potential to enhance the UK's independent nuclear deterrent, energy security, and efforts towards achieving net zero emissions.
