Julia Garner is cast as Shalla-Bal, the Silver Surfer, in Marvel's Fantastic Four reboot.

The film will introduce Garner's Shalla-Bal as the lover of Norrin Radd, sharing his Silver Surfer powers.

Fantastic Four's production is slated to start this summer, with a release date set for July 25, 2025.

The reboot will feature Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn as the core superhero team.

Director Matt Shakman will helm the film, which is expected to link to Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Marvel's casting hints at the potential inclusion of the villain Galactus in the Fantastic Four storyline.

This iteration of Fantastic Four is part of Disney's initiative to reinvigorate the franchise after acquiring 21st Century Fox.
