Over 100 people died and around 20 remain missing after an overcrowded and unlicensed ferry sank off the coast of Nampula, Mozambique.

The ferry was transporting passengers trying to escape a cholera outbreak in the region, which has already seen 5084 cases and 12 deaths.

President Filipe Nyusi has acknowledged the increased death toll and the government is set to evaluate and respond to the tragedy.
