The Regional Elections of 2024 in Madeira and Porto Santo have concluded with voter turnout estimated between 44% and 49%.

This marks a significant increase from the record abstention rate of 50.42% in 2015.

Over 254,000 voters participated in selecting from 14 parties for the 47 seats in the Regional Legislative Assembly.

The election was called early due to corruption allegations against Miguel Albuquerque.

Leading parties include PSD, PS, and CDS-PP.

Minor issues were reported regarding campaign posters near polling stations, but overall the elections ran smoothly.

The results will determine the formation of the new government.
