Paul Hogan, a beloved former principal and teacher, passed away at 61 after falling through a skylight at St Margaret Mary’s Primary School in Melbourne.

Hogan had a 36-year career in the Catholic school system, serving in various teaching and leadership roles.

WorkSafe Victoria is investigating the incident, which is the 23rd workplace fatality of 2024.

Hogan was remembered for his sense of humor, dedication to education, and continued part-time teaching even after retirement.

He was described as a great family man, teammate, and mentor, with an infectious personality and passion for education.

Dr. Edward Simons from Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools expressed deep sadness and extended sympathies to Hogan's family and friends.
