Soho Theatre is set to open its second venue in Walthamstow in May 2025, revitalizing the historic Granada building, which originally opened in 1930.

The Granada Theatre has a rich history, having hosted performances by iconic artists such as The Beatles and Dusty Springfield, and has previously served as a pub and cinema.

After years of disrepair, a community-led campaign helped restore the building, which now features a blend of vintage décor and modern amenities.

The new venue will be a 960-seat space located in the Grade II-listed former Granada Theatre building and will include studio spaces, four bars, and a restaurant.

Dame Heather Rabbatts, chairwoman of Soho Theatre, emphasized the venue's evolution into a significant cultural institution that will present world-class artists to larger audiences.

Soho Theatre Walthamstow aims to make the arts accessible, offering 15,000 tickets at £15 for local residents in its first year.

Co-executive directors Mark Godfrey and Sam Hansford expressed excitement about the venue's opening and its role in supporting culture-led growth and regeneration in the area.

The opening season will include a variety of performances, with tickets going on sale on January 30, 2025.

In addition to comedy, the theatre will host performances such as Natalie Palamides’s Weer, Neon Nights, and Aladdin And The Magic Lamp.

Monthly comedy events called NEON NIGHTS will feature prominent comedians such as Sara Pascoe and Larry Dean.
