During his performance at the Wild Horses Festival in San Diego on December 30, 2024, Malone named George Strait and rising star Zach Top as his top two artists of the year.

At the festival, Malone introduced Zach Top on stage, and they performed a cover of Vince Gill's 'Don't Let Our Love Start Slippin' Away.'
