OpenSats operates with full transparency, awarding 100% of its grants directly to project recipients, with operational costs covered by separate donations, ensuring accountability and sustainability.

This donation will enable OpenSats to expand its global efforts, having already provided over 300 grants worldwide, and will help support a broader range of contributors in the Bitcoin ecosystem.

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino emphasized the importance of open-source software and decentralization, highlighting Bitcoin's role in fostering a freer, more decentralized future, and expressed pride in supporting OpenSats' mission.

In addition to its philanthropic efforts, Tether is diversifying its reserves into assets like gold, agriculture, and stakes in firms such as Adecoagro, viewing Bitcoin as a long-term hedge.

Tether is also pursuing a fundraising round of $15-20 billion, aiming for a valuation near $500 billion, with plans to attract outside equity investments without selling existing stakes.
