Two Teens Charged in Shocking Murder of Florida Girl Amid Social Media Dispute
December 7, 2025
Investigators have questioned both suspects and have not ruled out charging any parents as part of the ongoing probe, with conflicting statements emerging.
A 14-year-old girl, Danika Troy of Pace, Florida, was lured into a wooded area by two teen boys and fatally shot, with her body later burned.
Two suspects, Gabriel Williams, 16, and Kimahri Blevins, 14, have been charged with first-degree premeditated murder and are in custody at the Department of Juvenile Justice.
Danika’s mother, Ashley Troy, says she still loves the boys and seeks justice, honoring her daughter who she described as beautiful and devoted to her faith.
Authorities say Troy and the suspects were acquaintances from school with a dispute over Thanksgiving break that included an initial plan to shoot her.
Motive described involves online insults and social media disputes surrounding the suspects’ views of Troy.
Sheriff Johnson called it the first juvenile-on-juvenile homicide in his tenure and noted the case’s tragic impact, with discussion of possibly trying the teens as adults.
Both suspects are detained in the Department of Juvenile Justice as prosecutors weigh whether to pursue adult charges.
Witnesses say the murder resulted from a planned sequence, with Williams using his mother’s handgun to shoot Troy multiple times and later helping burn her remains.
Danika’s mother asks for accountability, expressing that she does not blame the community and hopes full legal consequences are pursued.
Support has come from Avalon Baptist Church and a GoFundMe page has been set up for funeral costs, with a candlelight vigil planned.
Troy was last seen by her mother around the end of November and was found December 2 off Kimberly Road in Pace, roughly 17 miles north of Pensacola.
