On April 6, 2025, a brutal stabbing incident occurred in a Brooklyn home, injuring four children aged 8, 11, 13, and 16.

During the chaos, an 11-year-old girl managed to hide in a room and call 911 for help, while a young, uninjured boy alerted a neighbor.

Inside, they encountered the suspect, 49-year-old Luan Chen, holding a bloodied meat cleaver and refusing to drop the weapon, which prompted officers to fire.

Thanks to tracing technology, police were quickly dispatched to the scene despite the girl's inability to provide her exact address.

NYPD Chief John Chell praised the bravery of the children who alerted authorities and confirmed that the motive for the attack is still under investigation.

The attack took place in the Bensonhurst neighborhood around 10:30 a.m., prompting an immediate police response.

The suspect died from gunshot wounds, while the injured children remain in serious condition but are expected to survive.
