World has announced a partnership with Visa to introduce a 'World Visa card' that will enable payments using WLD and other cryptocurrencies for users who complete the eye-scanning process.

In addition to the verification device, World is expanding its financial services with the introduction of a DeFi lending platform, Morpho Mini App, and a prediction market platform in collaboration with Kalshi.

To enhance privacy, World has implemented a personal custody feature that ensures users' biometric data remains on their devices and is not stored by the company.

The company plans to produce 7,500 units of the new Orb Mini by the end of the year, with a factory being established in Richardson, Texas, to support this production.

Starting May 1, 2025, U.S. residents can register for the World ID using the Orb, marking a significant step in the project's rollout.

Sam Altman emphasized the importance of human authentication in an era dominated by AI, highlighting the project's goal to distinguish human-generated content from that produced by machines.
