Lightricks has launched its new AI video generation model, the LTX Video 13-billion-parameter model (LTXV-13B), which can produce high-quality videos up to 30 times faster than similar models using consumer-grade hardware.

This innovative model features multiscale rendering, allowing creators to gradually add detail, resulting in superior quality and faster rendering compared to competitors.

With 13 billion open-source parameters, LTXV-13B enables high-quality video generation at a significantly lower cost than other models in the market.

To ensure ethical training practices, Lightricks has partnered with Getty Images and Shutterstock, gaining access to high-quality video assets for training the model.

These partnerships also help mitigate legal risks associated with AI training data by providing licensed content for the model's development.

CEO Zeev Farbman emphasized that this release democratizes AI video generation, allowing creators to produce professional-quality content on standard desktop computers and high-end laptops.

Despite these advancements, Farbman acknowledged that AI video generation still does not match the quality of Hollywood films, though it holds promise for practical applications in animation and content production.

The LTXV-13B model is fully open-source and available on platforms like Hugging Face and GitHub, contrasting with many AI models that remain behind closed APIs.

As the generative AI video market is projected to reach $600 billion, driven by demand from digital marketing and film production, Lightricks aims to position itself as a major player in this space.

Lightricks is offering the LTXV-13B model for free to startups with annual revenues under $10 million to encourage community engagement and demonstrate the model's value before monetization.

Farbman believes that this model positions Israel competitively in the AI video sector, enabling Lightricks to rival larger firms in the industry.

Unlike previous models from competitors that required substantial computational resources, LTXV-13B operates efficiently on consumer-grade GPUs, making it accessible for a wider range of users.
