Samsung Unveils Exynos 2500 Chipset: A 3nm Powerhouse for Galaxy Z Flip 7
June 23, 2025
Samsung has officially launched the Exynos 2500 chipset, which is built on a cutting-edge 3nm process node and features significant upgrades in AI performance, graphics, and connectivity.
This new chipset supports advanced AI capabilities and boasts a powerful GPU, with specifications that include support for up to 320MP camera sensors and the ability to record 8K video at 30 frames per second.
The Exynos 2500 is configured with a 10-core CPU, featuring a high-performance Cortex-X5 core, now known as Cortex-X925, clocked at 3.3GHz.
In terms of connectivity, the chipset includes the Exynos 5400 modem, enabling mmWave 5G with peak download speeds of 12.1 Gbps, along with satellite connectivity, Bluetooth 5.4, and Wi-Fi 7.
The chipset utilizes the new Samsung Xclipse 950 GPU, which supports 4K resolution displays at 120Hz refresh rates and includes hardware-accelerated ray tracing for enhanced gaming visuals.
Additionally, the Exynos 2500 supports LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage standards, ensuring maximum speed and efficiency for mobile devices.
Samsung claims that the neural processing unit (NPU) within the Exynos 2500 can perform up to 59 trillion operations per second, achieving a 39% improvement in on-device AI performance compared to its predecessor, the Exynos 2400.
The Exynos 2500 is expected to power all versions of the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 globally, marking a significant shift from the previous reliance on Snapdragon chipsets for Samsung's foldable devices.
This strategic decision may reflect Samsung's growing confidence in its in-house chip technology, especially as the Snapdragon 8 Elite is anticipated for the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Manufactured using a 3nm process, the Exynos 2500's CPU configuration includes a combination of Cortex-X5, Cortex-A725, and Cortex-A520 cores.
While the official launch date for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Exynos 2500 has not yet been disclosed, leaks indicate that the new SoC will be prominently featured in the upcoming device.
