The app is supported by nearly 200 doctors who are developing AI Doctor Agents to provide reliable healthcare advice, particularly for patients with limited access to medical resources.

AQ utilizes Ant Group's Healthcare Large Model, which excels in medical reasoning and interaction capabilities, consistently ranking highly in evaluations.

China's healthcare system faces challenges, with a low doctor-to-population ratio of 1.8 doctors per 1,000 people, leading to overwhelming patient loads for urban doctors and limited access for rural residents.

As China's population ages, projections indicate that by 2035, over 400 million individuals will be aged 60 or older, significantly increasing the demand for healthcare services.

Experts emphasize the need for trustworthy AI tools for doctors, addressing both technical and social challenges within the healthcare infrastructure.

Zhang Junjie, general manager of healthcare business at Alipay, noted that the technology behind AQ could potentially be licensed to third parties for use in other markets.

The digital health market in China is projected to reach $110 billion by 2025, and Ant's entry into this sector aligns with national healthcare goals, including expanding health insurance coverage for digital services.

In January 2025, Ant Group acquired Haodf, which has led to the launch of an AI Doctor Assistant that supports doctors in diagnosis, record management, and patient education.
