Tems has launched the Leading Vibe Initiative, aimed at empowering and supporting young women pursuing careers in the African music industry.

Currently, women make up only 22% of artists globally, with even fewer represented as songwriters at 12.8% and producers at just 3%.

The application deadline for the initiative is July 13, 2025, with submissions accepted via leadingvibe.com/initiative.

Applications can be submitted through leadingvibe.com/initiative, with updates available on Instagram at @leadingvibeinitiative and @temsbaby.

Women artists, producers, engineers, and managers are encouraged to apply and become part of this community focused on collaboration and empowerment.

The initiative is inspired by Tems' own journey in the music industry, which gained traction with her collaboration on Wizkid's hit 'Essence' in 2020.

The initiative will host a two-day seminar on August 8 and 9, designed for 15 to 20 women, focusing on honing their craft, industry knowledge, and community building.

This inaugural event will feature workshops, masterclasses, and panel discussions to provide a comprehensive understanding of the music industry.

Participants will engage in meet and greets with industry executives, training sessions on songwriting and music production, studio sessions, and panel discussions.

The program will also provide participants with production software and additional resources, with details on mentors and speakers to be announced later.
