TOP Raises $28.5M, Reaches $1B Valuation to Expand TON Blockchain with Telegram Partnership
July 3, 2025
The Open Platform (TOP), a key developer for Telegram’s blockchain project TON, has successfully raised $28.5 million in Series A funding, achieving a valuation of $1 billion.
This funding will primarily support TOP's strategy for geographical expansion, particularly in the United States and Europe, as well as the launch of its portfolio companies in these key regions.
Andrew Rogozov, TOP's founder and CEO, emphasized that significant investment in compliance and operational infrastructure is essential for this expansion.
The new capital will also be utilized to obtain regulatory licensing and build compliance infrastructure, ensuring a smooth market entry.
Ribbit Capital led the investment round, with participation from Pantera Capital, securing a total stake of 5% in the company, without any cryptocurrency exchanged.
This valuation reflects current market sentiment and sets a benchmark for other projects within the TON ecosystem.
Despite previous setbacks, including a settlement with the SEC in 2020, development of TON has continued, with TOP being incorporated in Abu Dhabi in 2023.
In 2023, Telegram officially adopted a new version of TON as its exclusive blockchain, further solidifying its partnership with TOP.
Strategic partnerships, particularly with Telegram, have been crucial for TOP in attracting investors and gaining credibility within the crypto community.
The investment is expected to enhance TOP's capabilities and support its ongoing development of cryptocurrency-related services within Telegram.
Rogozov stated that the company's overarching goal is to onboard a billion users into cryptocurrency by leveraging Telegram's extensive reach and the scalability of TON.
The growth in the TON ecosystem is evidenced by increased on-chain activity and daily transactions, with Toncoin benefiting from the positive momentum in financial markets.
