Insta360 Unveils Go Ultra: 4K Action Camera Revolutionizes Portability and Performance
August 21, 2025
Insta360 has announced the Go Ultra, a new ultra-portable action camera weighing just 53 grams, with significant upgrades over its predecessor, the Go 3S, including a larger sensor, 4K 60fps video, and a built-in AI chip for advanced stabilization and noise reduction.
The camera supports versatile accessories like upgraded magnetic pendants, sticky tabs, and mounts, and is rated IPX8 water-resistant, capable of underwater use up to 33 feet, making it suitable for active and outdoor use.
Its magnetic attachment system allows easy clipping onto clothing or gear, ideal for activities like cycling or outdoor adventures, and it includes accessories such as a magnetic clip and pendant for creative mounting options.
Storage has been upgraded to support microSD cards up to 2TB, replacing internal storage limitations, which provides greater flexibility for high-resolution content management.
Additional features include improved audio with wind noise reduction, GPS and health tracking capabilities via integration with devices like Apple’s Find My network, and voice and gesture controls for hands-free operation.
While early discounts are not expected at launch, retailers may offer pre-order bundles or exclusive accessories, with shipping expected to begin in the coming weeks.
The device features a modular design with a standalone unit and an optional Action Pod that adds a touchscreen, extra battery, and remote controls, extending recording time up to 200 minutes and supporting fast charging.
Available from August 21, 2025, the Go Ultra is priced at $449.99, with a Creator bundle offering additional mounts and accessories for $499.99, and can be purchased through multiple retailers including the Insta360 Store and Amazon.
The device’s design emphasizes portability, durability, and cinematic quality, positioning it as a competitive option in the wearable action camera market, especially for creators and vloggers.
Targeting the creator economy and social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube, the Go Ultra’s lightweight and user-friendly features lower barriers for new content creators.
The camera’s battery life is approximately 70 minutes standalone, extendable to 200 minutes with the Action Pod, and fast charging can restore 80% in just 12 minutes, making it highly practical for on-the-go use.
The updated Insta360 app includes AI-powered tools for auto-editing, syncing GPS and activity data, and features AI Family Moments for automatic highlight reels, enhancing user storytelling.
