During undercover transactions, Moran advised on how to dilute fentanyl to prevent overdoses, acknowledging its lethal potential.
Photos from the investigation showed drugs, cash stacks, and firearms inside their home, including a revolver and shotgun placed near children’s toys.
Caleb Moran and Jessica Medina-Rivas, both 28, were indicted for operating a large-scale drug trafficking operation out of their home in Holbrook, Suffolk County, where authorities uncovered extensive drug and weapon inventories.
The couple was arraigned in Suffolk Supreme Court, facing a total of 55 charges including drug trafficking, possession, and firearm offenses, with bail set at $2 million each.
Authorities executed a search warrant on August 22, 2025, revealing 14 kilograms of cocaine, 12 kilograms of methamphetamine, over 3 ounces of fentanyl, thousands of pills, and two unregistered firearms, along with $118,000 in cash.
The investigation involved controlled buys in mid-2025, during which Moran and Medina-Rivas sold cocaine and fentanyl, with Moran warning against selling pure fentanyl due to overdose risks.
The authorities seized approximately 14 kilograms of cocaine, thousands of ecstasy and MDMA pills, cannabis, heroin, steroids, and weapons, including a pill press and blenders used for drug processing, with an estimated value of around $2 million.
The bust is considered one of the largest in Suffolk County history, believed to have prevented numerous overdoses and saved lives.
Investigators linked Moran to a decommissioned police vehicle, a blacked-out Ford Explorer purchased at auction, which was used to transport drugs and mimic law enforcement during operations.
A dedicated room in their home was used for drug packaging and processing, and the operation was connected to intercepted shipments of cannabis from California through a related business run by Moran’s father.
Both suspects are held on substantial bail, with Moran ordered held on $2 million cash or $8 million bond, and Medina-Rivas on $2 million cash or $4 million bond.
The investigation spanned six weeks, involving controlled buys, during which Moran and Medina-Rivas sold cocaine and fentanyl, with Moran warning against selling fentanyl 'pure' due to overdose dangers.
