Upwind Secures $250M in Series B, Valued at $1.5B, Targets AI-Driven Cloud Security Expansion
January 26, 2026
Upwind has expanded its ecosystem to 100+ partners and formed strategic collaborations with NVIDIA, Microsoft Azure and AWS.
Upwind Security today announced a $250 million Series B funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with Salesforce Ventures and Picture Capital also participating, bringing total funding to $430 million.
The company offers a runtime-native cloud security platform that increases visibility into networks, APIs and data flows while aiming to reduce noise and avoid slowing business operations.
The round values Upwind at about $1.5 billion and signals strong investor confidence in its cloud-native, runtime-first security platform.
In addition to the lead investors, existing backers including Greylock, Cyberstarts, Leaders Fund, Craft Ventures, TCV, Alta Park, Cerca Partners, Swish Ventures and Penny Jar Capital contributed to the round.
Upwind emphasizes a shift from traditional posture-based security to runtime evidence, arguing that real-time signals are essential to protect modern cloud environments and AI workloads.
Upwind positions its approach as runtime-centric cloud security designed to provide real-time signals and to contrast with static posture-based models.
The funding marks the start of a growth phase dubbed The Next Wave, aimed at scaling runtime-first cloud security to support AI and real-time cloud applications for enterprises globally.
Customer momentum includes names like Waste Management, Siemens, Carvana, Roku, Wix, Nubank, Agoda, Peloton, Fiverr and BILL, with claims of a 98% reduction in security alerts and 60% fewer irrelevant CVEs.
Industry recognition from Frost & Sullivan, Gartner, Fortune, CRN and ISMG reinforces Upwind’s position in CNAPP and runtime-native cloud security.
Since a $100 million round a year earlier, Upwind reports 900% year-over-year revenue growth and 200% logo growth, while expanding its workforce from about 150 to over 300 employees across the U.S., U.K., Israel and momentum in Australia, India, Singapore and Japan.
New capital will accelerate product development and go-to-market efforts, expanding capabilities in data, AI and code, advancing AI security features, and bringing runtime-first security closer to developers to prevent misconfigurations before production.
