Luis Guilherme, a 19-year-old Brazilian winger formed at Palmeiras who won the Brazilian championship and moved to Europe with West Ham in the 2024/25 season, has been officially announced as a Sporting player.

Sporting Clube de Portugal confirmed the signing of Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme from West Ham on a four-year deal through 2030.

His release clause is set at €80 million, providing a high level of protection against a potential exit.

Mateus Fernandes was cited as a positive influence in Guilherme’s career, strengthening the bond between the player and Alcochete-based club.

This marks Sporting’s first winter window signing, as the team sits second in the league, seven points behind leaders Porto.

During his time at West Ham, Guilherme played 13 league games last season and five this season, including three under coach Nuno Espírito Santo.

Guilherme expressed happiness and excitement about joining Sporting, praising the club’s family-like environment and his eagerness to help the team, noting the support from the board and players.

He signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Sporting, lasting until June 2030, with the €80 million release clause.
