A new partnership between Crypto.com and Stripe was announced, aimed at bringing crypto-enabled payments to mainstream commerce, with Stripe facilitating crypto-to-fiat conversions and Crypto.com enabling spendability at online merchants through an extended integration.

The collaboration aligns with Stripe's broader crypto strategy, including earlier moves like stablecoin payments for subscriptions rolled out in late 2025.

Crypto.com and Stripe executives emphasize making cryptocurrency more accessible and useful for both consumers and merchants, broadening everyday utility.

Stripe will convert crypto payments into the merchant’s local currency and deposit the funds into the merchant’s bank account, with an initial rollout in the United States and plans to expand.

The integration enables Stripe to act as the processor, automatically converting crypto to fiat and depositing the proceeds, mirroring traditional card payments.

Crypto.com will also use Stripe for payment acquirer services, enabling customers to buy crypto with debit and credit cards more easily.

Sellers can price in their chosen currencies while customers pay with digital assets like Bitcoin or Ethereum, addressing volatility and operational complexity.

The checkout experience will feature Crypto.com payments via Stripe’s Optimized Checkout Suite, with users confirming payments by QR code in the Crypto.com app.

Analysts suggest crypto payments could become mainstream in e-commerce if regulation clarifies and volatility is mitigated, potentially tripling crypto’s share of online commerce.

Crypto.com is pursuing further integrations and collaborations, including talks with UAE’s e& Money and Lynq’s digital asset settlement network to streamline institutional funding and offramp processes.
