Eden Court marks its 50th anniversary year with an opening April celebration, featuring an Evening with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Scottish Opera to honor the venue’s 1976 opening night.

The yearlong program foregrounds accessibility, inclusivity, and community partnerships, inviting Highlands residents to participate and imagine Eden Court’s next five decades.

Behind the celebrations are generous donations, including a bequest from the late Miss Minnie Anderson that support the anniversary programming.

A diverse lineup continues through the year, from a May Cinema Flashback at the original 1976 price to a June Youth Arts Festival and a July One Night Only! celebrating half a century of musical theatre.

August shifts focus to Gaelic music and outdoor arts with Under Canvas, featuring a newly commissioned Gaelic work by Sian, plus a Family Fun Day and a 50th‑anniversary close with renowned trad musicians.

November spotlights a special Inverness Film Festival moment with site‑specific screenings developed in partnership with Eastgate Shopping Centre, kept under wraps to surprise audiences.

September brings a primary‑school outreach production, The Lonely Pine, and a Feast community project that promotes shared food, conversation, and creativity across the Highlands.

June centers on youth with the Eden Court Youth Arts Festival and Scotland’s National Festival of Youth Theatre, highlighting emerging talent from across the UK.

Throughout 2026, Eden Court showcases a diverse mix of cinema, immersive performances, touring school productions, community events, and the Under Canvas outdoor festival, reflecting its past, present, and future.

October presents Confluence, a promenade/immersive journey through Eden Court’s spaces with site‑specific performances in theatre, music, and dance, emphasizing the building as a hub for collaboration and Gaelic culture.

December closes with Eden Court Stories, a large‑scale public‑art and storytelling exhibition led by Jacqueline Briggs, celebrating 50 years of impact and looking toward the future.
