Garth Brooks hinted in Salt Lake City that he isn’t retiring and suggested Salt Lake City could be the opening stop if he tours again, while debates about his future plans continue.

The discussions around Brooks’ touring future center on potential upcoming tours, with Salt Lake City already positioned as a leading contender if another tour materializes.

Overall, the coverage notes a pattern of retirement and return without an official retirement, highlighting speculation about future plans.

Industry context shows Brooks remains in high demand, with sold-out venues throughout 2026 despite broader touring challenges.

Brooks performed at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City on October 9–10, adding a third show due to demand, including a Sunday matinee on October 11.

The 2026 Blame It All On My Roots Tour brings a nostalgia-focused set of performances across markets.

Even amid retirement speculation, the tour is among the most successful country outings of 2026, driven by city-by-city rollout, nostalgia content, and strong fan engagement.

Brooks has a history of retiring and returning, including a 2000 retirement to raise his daughters and a return to touring after a Las Vegas residency ended in 2014.

Earlier retirements include a notable promise tied to his daughter Taylor in 1992, framing a long timeline of comebacks and career moves.

At 64, Brooks previously stepped away in 2001 to focus on family and resumed touring after 2014, underscoring a pattern of returns.

To combat scalping, he announced shows one by one with ticket prices set at $155.50, though ticketing bots still disrupted sales.

Delta Center’s social feeds on October 10 signaled readiness for Brooks’s return, reflecting ongoing engagement with his touring future.
