February 24, 2026
Officers seized more than 300 grams of meth with an estimated street value of about $60,000, along with other drugs such as GHB, cocaine and cannabis.
Wastewater data indicates regional Victoria is among the nation’s largest meth users, highlighting the scale of the issue.
Police in Shepparton and Mooroopna, Victoria cracked down on a methylamphetamine trafficking syndicate, leading to multiple arrests and charges as part of a year-long pattern of weekly drug arrests in the region.
All six main suspects have been bailed to appear in court later this year, with the investigation continuing.
Detective Acting Sergeant Lance Wiltshire and Sergeant Wiltshire warned about the life-changing consequences and possible jail time tied to drug trafficking charges.
The six charged individuals, aged 27 to 42, hail from Shepparton, Mooroopna and Seymour, and are scheduled for court in July to September at Shepparton Magistrates Court.
Five men and a woman face multiple trafficking or cultivation charges; five other people were charged with possession of drugs and unlawful weapons.
Twelve people were arrested in the operation, with six charged with drug trafficking or cultivation and five more facing drug possession or weapon charges; one person was interviewed and released pending further inquiries.
Warrants led to the arrest of at least 12 individuals during the latest operation, with ongoing investigations.
Authorities recovered weapons, including a machete and knuckledusters, along with a suspected stolen Toyota LandCruiser and a motorbike.
Officials emphasize the severe impact of meth on regional communities, noting meth-related problems such as drugged driving, break-ins, family violence, and anti-social behavior, with Shepparton identified as a high-usage area.
