Wizz Air will open a new base at Turin Caselle in northern Italy, with the first aircraft based there starting mid-September 2026 and a second by late October 2026.

The Turin base will be Wizz Air’s seventh Italian base and will deploy two Airbus A321neo aircraft, adding about 1 million annual seats to Turin’s network.

The launch includes multiple destinations with mapped frequencies, including Barcelona, Bilbao, Valencia, Madrid, Rome Fiumicino, Naples, Palermo, and related ties for domestic travel, with dates spanning September to October 2026.

Passengers will gain roughly 1 million additional annual seats, benefiting from A321neo efficiency and budget-friendly direct Turin flights to key Mediterranean leisure destinations.

The Turin base marks Wizz Air’s fortieth global base and will connect Piedmont to major Spanish leisure hubs, expanding service to Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Malaga, and Bilbao.

Turin’s current market is dominated by Ryanair, which operates a base there and holds about 56% of scheduled weekly departure capacity.

The move is framed as a catalyst for northern Italy’s tourism, creating 80 direct jobs at the airport and about 700 indirect jobs in hospitality and related sectors.
