A new R.I.S.E. Summit, launched by Melissa Etheridge through her Etheridge Foundation, aims to pursue innovative addiction treatments, including psychedelics.

The summit is set to debut November 12 in Irvine, California, and was established in the wake of Etheridge’s son Beckett’s death from opioid addiction in 2020.

R.I.S.E. stands for Research, Innovation, Science, and Education, aligning with Etheridge’s forthcoming album titled Rise.

Session topics will explore psychedelic-assisted therapies and related care models, including ibogaine, psilocybin, ayahuasca, and MDMA, while highlighting Indigenous-led biocultural conservation efforts to protect traditional plant medicine knowledge.

Programming will cover a range of substances such as ibogaine, psilocybin, 5-MeO-DMT, MDMA, cannabis, ketamine, and ayahuasca, with emphasis on indigenous-led efforts to safeguard traditional plant medicine and biocultural history.

The summit will also address indigenous-led biocultural conservation work connected to traditional plant medicine knowledge.
