ABBA Voyage Launches Youth Arts Initiative to Boost Creative Careers in East London
June 4, 2026
Abba has achieved nine UK number-one singles, underscoring their lasting cultural impact.
The next phase will support youths from Newham, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, and Waltham Forest, working with partners like Good Growth Hub and Sound Diplomacy, and will include mentoring, training, and employment pathways.
Abba Voyage has launched a new education initiative in east London to inspire young people to explore careers in performing arts and the wider creative industries.
CEO Craig Hartenstine says the program aims to build skills, confidence, mentoring, training, and clear employment pathways for the local community.
The current effort builds on Abba Voyage’s activities since 2022, which have included career workshops and skills programs designed to benefit local students and communities.
ABBA Voyage opened in May 2022 with digital ABBAtars and a live band, and has grown into a leading UK live music attraction with millions of visitors.
Shazia Hussain of the LLDC frames the initiative as part of using Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to drive inclusive growth and nurture local creative talent.
Past and ongoing initiatives include career schools for ages 15–17, a subsidized young persons ticket scheme, and a local employment scheme at ABBA Arena pledging at least 50% local hires.
Abba Voyage emerged as a virtual concert residency created in May 2022 by the four members, riding on their Eurovision-winning legacy and major UK hits such as Mamma Mia, Fernando, Dancing Queen, and Take A Chance on Me.
