Disney+ has launched the Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast, a five-episode series hosted by Ms. Marvel’s Iman Vellani and Frank Alvarez to revisit Marvel Studios’ Infinity Saga and set the stage for Avengers: Doomsday.

The show is available across multiple platforms, with episodes streaming on Disney+ and Marvel’s YouTube, and audio editions on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other major podcast platforms.

The Doomsday film will feature characters from the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men franchises, signaling a broad, interconnected saga.

Episode five will coincide with the September 25, 2026 theater re-release of Avengers Endgame: Encore, also planned as an Endgame Encore theatrical release.

The series analyzes character arcs and themes from the featured films, aiming to inform and shape expectations for Avengers: Doomsday.

Avengers: Doomsday is slated for a December 18, 2026 release, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, with Robert Downey Jr. returning as Doctor Doom in a new role.

The podcast’s episode lineup begins August 27 with The Avengers, followed by September 3 (Avengers: Age of Ultron), September 10 (Captain America: Civil War), September 17 (Avengers: Infinity War), and September 24 (Avengers: Endgame).

Episode 1, streaming now, features Vellani and Alvarez revisiting The Avengers (2012) and delves into Loki’s schemes, the Battle of New York, and the original Avengers team-up.

There is uncertainty whether Ms. Marvel or other characters like Photon or Captain Marvel will appear in Avengers: Doomsday.

The Infinity Saga films covered in the first five installments are The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame, all available on Disney+.

Avengers: Doomsday is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Jonathan Schwartz, with a star-studded cast led by Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.

Future episodes will cover four additional MCU films—Age of Ultron, Civil War, Infinity War, Endgame—with the final episode focusing on Endgame.
