Verkada has updated its Command platform with new Transportation, Sound Systems, and Catalyst integrations, and is rolling out software updates starting in early October, with new hardware shipping in October and November.

The company debuts a cloud-managed platform for in-transit vehicles that merges video, location, and vehicle diagnostics into a unified trip-history view, featuring ruggedized cameras, a vehicle gateway with 5G and Wi‑Fi, and GPS-driven event search.

Verkada’s expansion aims at a broad base of more than 30,000 organizations across 170 countries, including over 100 Fortune 500 companies, with shipments and updates planned through late 2026.

Enhancements include a Live mode for the Unified Timeline to support real-time investigations, new alerts for scenarios such as wrong-way driving and concealed packages, a thermal camera series and six new FIPS-validated models for government use, and an integration with Skydio for drone dispatch tied to specific alerts.

Verkada also unifies enterprise audio under a cloud-managed system, connecting third-party speakers and amplifiers via Network Audio Players and Network Speakers that utilize Power over Ethernet.

Catalyst provides a read-only Model Context Protocol integration to Command, enabling natural-language prompts to produce outputs and workflows while connecting to approved AI platforms like Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini with access limited to approved services.

Additionally, a drone-dispatch integration with Skydio links to select alerts, augmenting response capabilities for on-site investigations.
