Kelly Zhang has stepped down as CEO of Douyin Group to spearhead growth at ByteDance's video editing app Jianying, with a focus on AI development.

Han Shangyou is set to oversee daily operations at Douyin following Zhang's departure.

Zhang's previous achievements include managing Toutiao and founding Tuba, later acquired by ByteDance in 2014.
