Sony is rumored to be working on a PlayStation 5 Pro model, codenamed Trinity, with a potential release in Fall 2024.
The PlayStation 5 Pro is expected to have a 45% faster GPU capable of 67 teraflops of 16-bit floating point calculations or 33.5 teraflops of 32-bit precision.
New features include a more powerful ray tracing architecture and PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution for upscaling and antialiasing.
While the CPU is the same as the original, the Pro will have a 'High Frequency Mode' for a 10% performance boost, and an audio processor with a 35% performance increase.
The PS5 Pro is designed to support up to 8K resolutions, increased internal storage to 1TB, and will include a detachable disc drive.
Leaks suggest a September 2024 release date and come from credible sources like Insider Gaming and IGN, based on information from Sony's Developer Network.
