AMD has unveiled its Ryzen PRO 8040 and 8000 Series processors targeted at AI-enhanced commercial PCs.

The processors feature dedicated NPUs for AI tasks, with performance figures of 39 TOPS for the 8040 and 34 TOPS for the 8000 Series.

HP and Lenovo will incorporate these new AMD chips in their PCs, with availability starting in the second quarter of 2024.

Over 150 software partnerships have been established by AMD to leverage local AI inferencing capabilities.
