Nvidia has released a significant update to its ChatRTX platform, enhancing its capabilities with new language models and the ability to process local documents and images.

The update includes support for large language models and image recognition through OpenAI's CLIP, as well as voice input transcription and the flexibility to switch AI models and train custom datasets.

At a press event, Nvidia demonstrated the power of its RTX consumer GPUs, claiming a performance edge over NPU-equipped PCs in AI-related tasks.

Performance benchmarks indicated that Nvidia's RTX 4090 Laptop GPU is over 7 times faster than Apple's M3 Max chip in content creation tasks, while the RTX 4050 Laptop GPU showed a 50–100 percent performance advantage.

Comparisons revealed that Nvidia's RTX 40-series GPUs outperform AMD's flagship GPUs, with the RTX 4090 being 2.8 times faster.

Despite these performance claims, most RTX-equipped systems do not meet Microsoft's definition of AI PCs, which requires an NPU in addition to the CPU/GPU.

The updated ChatRTX platform is accessible for users with a GeForce RTX 30 series GPU (with specific memory and storage requirements) through Nvidia's official website.
