Google has introduced its advanced AI assistant, Gemini, into Gmail for Android.

A new Gemini AI button on the app's toolbar allows users to access the chatbot for tasks like summarizing emails and creating messages.

Gemini replaces Bard and comes in two versions: Gemini 1.5 Flash for quick responses to repetitive tasks, and Gemini 1.5 Pro for handling complex tasks and larger amounts of information.

Gemini 1.5 Pro can process up to 2 million tokens, enabling tasks such as translating 2 hours of video or over 60,000 lines of code.

Google announced new features for Gemini, including multimodality and the addition of PaliGemma to Gemma's open source models for image identification and description.

The inclusion of the Gemini AI button on Android's Gmail toolbar provides easier access to the chatbot for email-related assistance.
