Previewed at Google I/O, the new Live features aim to make interacting with Gmail, Docs, and Keep more conversational and potentially faster than typing.
Google is rolling out beta Live voice features for Gmail, Docs, and Keep, using Gemini 3.5 AI to enable interactive voice conversations without typing.
Access to Live is via tapping the Live icon at the top of each app where the feature is available.

In Gmail, Live can find specific emails, compose replies, and answer questions based on the context of the inbox.
In Docs, Live can pull information from Google Chat, Gmail, Drive, and external sites (with permission) to generate documents through voice commands.
Access to Live requires AI Plus, Pro, or Ultra subscriptions for Gmail and Keep, and Pro or Ultra for Docs; business users will gain access later through Google Workspace.
The rollout is framed within a broader plan to expand Gemini-powered AI features over the coming year, building on previous Gmail AI enhancements.
