IBM’s Future Now Center and PsiQuantum’s test systems anchor Illinois’ bid to become a global quantum computing hub, with anticipated local economic growth and job opportunities in South Chicago.

Energy use is planned to be modest, at roughly the level of a typical manufacturing site, with new buildings about 30% more efficient and the park drawing carbon-neutral power from a new substation while using municipal water.

IQMP will enhance green space and native landscaping, add green roofs, provide public lakefront access with a cafe near Steelworkers Park, and incorporate migratory bird considerations into building design.

IQMP is a pioneering campus dedicated to advancing quantum technologies, hosting anchor tenants PsiQuantum, the National Quantum Algorithm Center, and IBM’s Future Now Center with about 750 jobs.
