DavMail 7.0.0 Boosts Performance with Graph-Based Delta Sync and Enhanced IMAP Features
September 22, 2026
DavMail 7.0.0 eliminates the davmail.caldavImpersonate option and introduces a default Graph-based delta sync for folders, reducing full listings and boosting performance.
IMAP messages keep their original date, headers, threading, and read flags, and meeting responses can target a single occurrence within a recurring event.
The EWS backend receives ongoing fixes for attendees, organizers, shared calendars, and exception occurrences, but the scope is smaller than the Graph-focused work.
Contacts now expose distribution lists as contact groups, though Thunderbird support for this remains unavailable.
Upgrade requires Graph access: Calendars.ReadWrite.Shared for shared folders, and token validation will fail without Mail.ReadWrite; admins in restricted tenants should approve the new scope.
A new davmail.caldavReadonly=true mode allows read-only calendar access, and the tool will abort a meeting response if the event has disappeared to avoid creating broken copies.
DavMail 7.0.0 primarily centers its integration on Microsoft Graph, with far more Graph entries than EWS.
DavMail now impersonates the shared mailbox itself when sending meeting responses from a shared calendar, eliminating the previous impersonation setting.
An opt-in under davmail.graph.deltaSync enables folder delta sync, which is now enabled by default, and the release adds smarter retry handling and support for malformed Retry-After headers.
