CATS, based on T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, has been a global sensation since its debut in 1981, captivating audiences for 21 years in London and winning numerous awards.

The 40th Anniversary Australian tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical CATS is set to kick off on June 17, 2025, at Theatre Royal Sydney.

Following its Sydney premiere, the tour will continue with performances at Her Majesty’s Theatre in Adelaide starting September 20, 2025, and at Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne from December 21, 2025.

The cast also features Sarah Bourke, Olivia Carniato, Mia Dabkowski-Chandler, and several swings, contributing to a diverse ensemble.

The musical has been performed in over 50 countries and translated into 23 languages, attracting more than 81 million viewers worldwide.

Previously announced principal performers include Todd McKenney as Bustopher Jones and Gus the Theatre Cat, Mark Vincent as Old Deuteronomy, and Leigh Archer as Jennyanydots.

Producer John Frost recently announced additional cast members for the tour, with pre-sale tickets for the Adelaide season becoming available on April 28, 2025, and general public sales starting on May 2, 2025.

Frost expressed excitement about the cast, emphasizing the mix of experienced artists and newcomers that will bring the production to life.

Gabriyel Thomas will portray the iconic role of Grizabella, marking a personal milestone as the show inspired her journey into musical theatre.

The score of CATS includes the iconic song 'Memory,' which has been recorded by over 150 artists and is celebrated for its music, choreography, and visual spectacle.

Jarrod Draper, a WAAPA graduate, has been cast as Munkustrap, the storyteller and protector of the Jellicle tribe.

Des Flanagan, known for his performance in Moulin Rouge!, will take on the mischievous role of Rum Tum Tugger.
